In Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, players will have the ability to talk their opponents into submission.
The news comes via an interview in the most recent issue of OXM. Gameplay director Patrick Fortier explained, "There are ways to stealth them, there are ways to beat them in combat and there are conversations you can have that maybe give you a different means of dealing with the situation altogether."
The extent of the options involved in the conversations was not divulged, but it's also nice to know that Eidos Montreal will be bringing back the stealth option from the original game. With three different options now at our fingertips for boss battles, the story line opens up as the end result changes depending upon the manner in which we defeat the boss.
Fortier also stated that the main reason for doing so was the multiple different ways players enjoy progressing through games these days. "It’s all about supporting all the different play aspects, That was the main thing that was missing from the boss fights. Thematically, I think they were interesting, but certain players found a challenge there that wasn’t really catered to them." It will be interesting to see more variety in Deus Ex Mankind Divided as it is already a franchise known for its ingenuity.
Deus Ex Mankind Divided currently has a 2016 release window with no official date, but will release on PS4, Xbox One and PC. A lengthy gameplay demo was released in June; check it out here.
