Dev. Diary shows Hellblade body model for protagonist Senua

Ninja Theory's latest developer diary #17 shows us just how the studio is incorporating technology to allow for a realistic approach into the body for the game's protagonist Senua.

As studio head Dominic Matthews states in the video, they were not happy with the hand drawn model of Senua in their initial approach and decided to use a different mode of development. A new technology in the Artec hand held scanner allowed Ninja Theory to scan their body model's multiple different poses in order to see how her muscles react and are manipulated. These were in turn transferred into the game and provided a much more detailed body model for Senua. As Mr. Matthews states, their body model Vikki Wild, fitness trainer, depicts what they were aiming for in a body of a warrior.

As hand drawn models can only go so far in detail without ending up too cartoon looking or on the opposite end like mannequins, this body technology accurately gave Ninja Theory what they were most desiring in a true warrior depiction for Senua.

There is no exact release date yet, but Hellblade is coming to both PS4 and PC sometime in 2016.
