After the year that the game industry has had, Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo have decided that Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 will not be released in the West. This decision was brought about by the developer and publisher of the game fearing the possible backlash over their character designs.
In response to this decision HuniePot, the developers behind HuniePop, have offered Koei Tecmo $1 million for the rights to publish Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 in the United States. HuniePot didn't want their offer to come off as disingenuous, so they followed up saying they were "100% serious" citing that Koei Tecmo would be getting "an extra million they otherwise wouldn't have."
If you're unfamiliar with HuniePop, it's basically a match-three puzzler that meets dating sim that meets anime nudie shots (as per our review).
By offering $1 million, HuniePot must be confident that Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 would sell well enough in the states that the offer would be worthwhile. Unfortunately, this deal probably won't go through, but it never hurts to ask – right?
