Fresh off the announcement that Diablo 3 is Blizzard's most pre-ordered effort ever, retail giant Amazon.com has revealed that the highly-anticipated action RPG is the online store's most pre-ordered PC game of all time.
"Today, it became the most pre-ordered PC game of all-time on Amazon.com – even exceeding pre-orders for Blizzard's own StarCraft II and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm," an Amazon rep said.
While Activision announced that Diablo 3 was the developer's most pre-ordered title ever, the assessment included the World of Warcraft Annual Pass subscribers, who are entitled to a free copy of Diablo 3 through a special promotion requiring a year-long subscription.
The fact that Amazon is competing with other retailers, Blizzard's Battle.net service, and still managing to break PC pre-order records just goes to show how many people are looking forward to Diablo 3.
The wait won't be much longer as Diablo 3 is set to release on May 15 worldwide. Be sure to check out Blizzard's Diablo 3 launch day preparation guide to gear up for slaying the demons.
