Diablo 3 patch 2.1 hits PS4; Here’s what’s new

Explore Greater Rifts and find Legendary Gems

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition received its first major content update today. Patch 2.1.0, now available on PS4 introduces The Vault, a new type of portal with mighty treasures and a new boss. Of course, there's plenty of other features in today's update, all of which are detailed below:

'What's New' Screen

A "What's New" screen now appears whenever you log into the game (and press "Start" at the Main Menu). This provides a quick overview of new features included in the patch.

The Vault

When you defeat a Treasure Goblin, there's a chance they will open a portal which you can enter. Inside this new realm awaits a new boss: The Baroness Green. And lots of treasure, too.

The Cesspools

The Cesspools are a new randomized environment you can encounter while adventuring in Nephalem Rifts and Greater Rifts.

Greater Rifts

A special type of timed Nephalem Rift. There are an infinite number of Greater Rift levels, each level getting progressively more difficult than the last. When completing a Greater Rift you will be able to choose between one of two rewards: a chance to upgrade your Legendary Gems or (if you complete the Rift level within the allotted time), the opportunity to move on tot he next Greater Rift level.

Ramaladni's Gift

A new Legendary item that allows you to add a socket to any weapon that doesn't already have one. This item can drop randomly in the game and will be consumed on use.

Legendary Gems

A new type of gem that can drop in Greater Rifts and The Vault. These offer powerful abilities when socketed into Rings and Amulets. You will have the opportunity to upgrade your Legendary Gems over time by completing Greater Rifts.
