Diablo 3 total sales climb to 15 million

Diablo 3 has sold over 15 million copies across all platforms since its launch in May 2012.

Blizzard Entertainment's action role-playing game debuted on PC and Mac and then came to consoles a year later — back in September for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 (with couch co-op, a welcomed feature).

The developer is planning a version for PS4 as well but has not finalized a release date. It's currently working on an expansion called Reaper of Souls, which is headed to computers on March 25. It's slated for PS4 as well, possibly with the launch on that platform.

Reaper of Souls adds new challenges such as an Adventure mode and Nephalim Rifts, as well as other features, including the new playable character the Crusader.

In early November last year, Diablo 3 sales reached 14 million.
