Could the latest game in the Diablo series be coming soon to a PS3 or Xbox 360 near you? Gaming news website Gamasutra has spotted some job postings on Blizzard’s official site that suggest it’s a definite possibility.
Blizzard is looking for a Lead Designer with “prior experience in console game development” and ” extensive knowledge of Diablo.” They are also looking for a Lead Programmer to lead console development on the Diablo team.
A post on the Diablo III community page following Gamasutra’s story sheds some light on the job openings and assures fans that while the developer is exploring a Diablo-related concept for consoles, there is no announcement of a console title. “We are first and foremost developing Diablo III for Windows and Mac PCs and don’t intend to allow any possibility of a console interpretation to delay or affect the release of the game,” Blizzard writes.
Good news for PC fans. It appears that the possibility of a Diablo game on consoles is still on the table, however, but hopeful PS3 and Xbox 360 owners probably shouldn’t hold their breaths.
