DICE developer says Battlefield V is “Everyone’s Battlefield”

Earlier this week, EA revealed our first look at the new Battlefield game, Battlefield V. The series will be going back to World War II but there’s one thing that has upset quite a few people: there are women on the frontlines and some people find that to be historically inaccurate despite that not being completely true.

EA faced some intense backlash from fans, despite the fact the series and Battlefield V in particular has never promised historical authenticity and has lots of jarring moments in gameplay that would never happen now or back then. One DICE developer who was at the reveal event took to Twitter the other day to talk about DICE’s decision to include females in the game and how they don’t plan on changing their minds.

Sounds like those who are upset will have to deal with it or choose to not buy the game at all. It’s unclear to what extent they’ll use women in the game or if they’ll be a usable skin on the American side or other forces that did not feature female fighters but we’ll likely hear about it more during EA’s event during E3 in June. We’ll also be getting an in-depth look at the game which will likely show off the game’s multiplayer.

Battlefield V will release on October 19th, 2018 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
