Could Battlefield 4 be better with Kinect? Back in April, DICE executive producer Patrick Bach confirmed the studio has no intention of implementing motion control, but what about other innovative gameplay the Xbox peripheral may offer?
Speaking on Xbox Wire, Bach said the studio was "looking into features that enhance the controls including peeking and leaning and tracking head movement as well as incorporating voice commands."
Kinect functionality isn't the only type of innovation the studio is looking at. Bach also mentioned SmartGlass which will allow Xbox players to "view the overhead map during multiplayer matches and take advantage of the second screen."
So while Battlefield 4 won't succumb to any motion control gimmicks, it remains to be seen just how practical head tracking can be. That being said, I'm more than intrigued with this.
