Following the discovery of an IMDB page revealing something called "Battlefield 5: Armageddon," EA DICE development director Dan Vaderlind has confirmed he has begun work on a new Battlefield.
Taking to Twitter, Vaderlind wrote, "Now that we've shipped Battlefront and a part of the team continues to work on it, I am moving on to another project, the next Battlefield.."
Previously EA CFO Blake Jorgensen did say the company plans to release a new Battlefield in 2016. Whether or not that will be Battlefield 5: Armageddon remains to be seen.
Either way, fans should be excited as we haven't had a proper Battlefield installment since 2013's Battlefield 4. I'm not including this year's Battlefield Hardline as it was a complete shift in the series' tone from traditional military warfare to the police war on crime.
