Did Darkseid just get revealed for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?

We have seen plenty of footage, toys and interviews for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that have been deemed spoiler-filled by anticipating fans, but the most recent reveal is probably the most spoiler-filled of all. Of course, if you're looking to stay away from spoilers — don't scroll down any further and stop clicking on headlines that have the world 'spoiler' in them.

The latest print issue of Empire Magazine has revealed an image of Batman/Bruce Wayne looking out over a metropolitan area in the throes of destruction. In a flattened area before the post-apocalyptic scene, there is a huge imprint of the Omega symbol.

The Omega symbol is Darksaid, ruler of the planet Apokolips', insignia. Darkseid is not only the ruler of Apokolops, but a member of the New Gods – which is an immortal race of beings with extremely advanced technology. He has been hailed as one of the most powerful villains in the DC Universe, Superman's biggest enemy and a major enemy of the Justice League.

While this image has yet to be revealed in any trailers or teasers, we have seen Darkseid's minions in Bruce Wayne's hallucination scene… which looks very similar to the image.

This scene has been described as a "post-apocaptic vision" by Batman vs. Superman's costume designer. "[Director] Zack [Snyder] had a great idea of this sort of nightmare-ish vision, almost a vision of the future, a post-apocalyptic vision," costume designer Michael Wilkinson said of the scene. "It's like a dream that Ben [Affleck] has, so we wanted to, it has almost a 'Mad Max' quality to it where it's like the end of the world, trying to survive."

Considering that Darkseid is linked with the Justice League… It puts production designer Patrick Tatopoulos' quote from an earlier interview (via CBR) into perspective. "Doomsday isn't just the final act," teased Tatopoulos; there's a "larger threat" in the film.

The entire scene with the guards wearing Superman's insignia and bowing to him could even be a spoiler with Darkseid in the equation… In the last episode of the animated series Superman gets brainwashed by Darkseid during his attempt to invade Earth.

This is too much. I can't handle the emotions.
