Did the Green Ranger just get confirmed for the new Power Rangers movie?

Just this morning, we learned that the Power Rangers movie releasing this March will also be getting a mobile tie-in fighting game. The announcement says that it will be based on characters included in the game, and includes a few screen grabs of characters we can expect.

The Red Ranger and Goldar are shown off, but also is the Green Ranger. Until now, the Green Ranger has not been confirmed for the film, but we do know that Rita Repulsa is most likely the former Green Ranger and maintains the green power coin in her staff. Zordon is also the former Red Ranger. There are couple of reasons to believe the Green Ranger will appear in the film, with one of them being this image.

If the game is based on characters in the film, and the Green Ranger is in the game, it's safe to say that he (or she) will be in the film. The second is the trailer itself. The newly released trailer last week shows our first glimpse of Zordon, Alpha-5, Megazords as well as Goldar in action. Now that we know that Rita, in fact, is most likely the Green Ranger with all the plot leaks. She also holds the power coin. This being the case, would Lionsgate really tip their hand and show the final battle of the film in a trailer?

I have a theory.

In my opinion, the battle with Goldar will obviously end with the Rangers winning. This will result in Rita somehow using the power coin to morph into the Green Ranger. Since Goldar was unable to acquire the Zeo Crystal for Lord Zedd (which is what burnt his face to begin with), he will return for the second film that we know will happen.

The Green Ranger will carry into the second film as well as the White Ranger. After all, the Dragonzord and Dragon Dagger are two of fans' favorite items in the franchise's history. In the opening seconds of the first trailer, we see the logo of the White Tiger on the back window of Jason's truck. See it here.

The White Ranger logo could just be an homage to the franchise, but it does tie into the main plot which is already known. Either way, I think we just got confirmation that the Green Ranger will be in the upcoming film on March 24th.
