Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth will have difficulty settings, NG+ mode, PS4 cross-saves

Bandai Namco first revealed Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth near the tail end of 2014, but at the time only confirmed a Japanese release for the following March. The studio has since announced a Western release for PS4 and PS Vita due out next year, and today revealed a handful of features which will be added before the localization launches.

In response to fan complaints of an almost childish challenge, adjustable difficulty settings will be available when the game hits the West. A new game plus mode will ramp things up further. This will also be backed by cross-save support between PS4 and PS Vita.

As Gematsu reports, a recent post from Bamco’s Chinese branch shows a number of bonuses unique to the region’s first-print copies. The included “protagonist” costume for Agumon and alternate black skins for Agumon and Gabumon will be free, and obtained via an included code. A custom Vita theme and soundtrack selection will also be included, but the meat lies in a separate story arc featuring Digimon World Dusk’s female protagonist, Sayo.

Whether these freebies will also be included in the Western version remains to be seen. However, especially in the case of Sayo’s side-story, they do seem enticing enough to warrant dangling them in front of Western Digimon fans. Even if they are once again limited to the game’s first copies, the free content would surely help drive sales.
