The 1987 Masters of the Universe film starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man as he battles Frank Langella as Skeletor is one of the best and worst things from my childhood. Watch it now and it borders on cringe-worthy, but I still love it.
It feels like the reboot of He-Man/Masters of the Universe has been in development forever, and that's because it has had multiple directors and scripts all move on from the project. But we finally might have a keeper…
Writer/director Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2) has finished a new, fresh draft of the latest Masters of the Universe screenplay. Previous drafts were by Alex Litvak and Mik Finch, Richard Wenk, and Terry Rossio (Pirates of the Caribbean series). Senior Vice President of Production at Columbia Pictures DeVon Franklin tweeted a pictures of the script's title page, which has every fan of the IP excited and cautious at the same time.

Ultimately, we want to see what a new Masters of the Universe could be. We miss He-Man and Skeletor and want to revisit Eternia. Hopefully this script gets approved by the big wigs making all of the decisions and production can start.
