Dishonored playable at QuakeCon 2012

Bethesda's new supernatural assassin action game, Dishonored, will be playable at QuakeCon 2012, the company announced today.

Revealing the lineup for the "ultimate video game festival", Bethesda confirmed Dishonored and Doom 3 BFG Edition will both be playable, along with a keynote address by John Carmack and a slew of other panels such as "The Game of Making Games", "Designing Multiplayer Games That Last", GameTrailers ‘Bonus Round’, and Idle Thumbs Podcast Live: Arena.

Panelists include Marty Stratton from id Software, Ted Price, President and CEO of Insomniac Games, Chet Faliszek and Tom Leonard from Valve Software, and Geoff Keighley, host of Spike’s GameTrailers.  The full line-up of panels and guest speakers will be announced in "the coming days".

QuakeCon 2012 takes place at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas August 2-5. The event is free for general admission attendees and online registration ends July 23.

There's been a lot of hype surrounding Dishonored, which is set to release in North America on October 9 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Developed by Arkane Studios, Dishonored puts you in the role of a supernatural assassin "driven by revenge". Using a flexible combat system, you combine supernatural abilities with weapons and gadgets to creatively eliminate your enemies.
