Disintegration to get beta later this month

Earlier this year, we learned the first details for Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto’s new shooter. The new IP titled Disintegration is a sci-fi FPS that mixes traditional arena shooter elements with strategy game mechanics. Players will have the first opportunity to play it at the end of January in a beta test.

The closed beta will run from these times on these dates (subject to change):

Tuesday | Jan 28, 2020 | 8am PT-11:59pm PT

Wednesday | Jan 29, 2020 | 8am PT-11:59pm PT

Developer V1 Interactive will also open the Disintegration beta to everyone from January 31st – February 1st. Both tests will be on Xbox One, PS4, and Steam. The tests are technical tests but will also allow players to give feedback on Disintegration before it launches later this year. If you want to get in on the action during the closed beta portion, click here to register for an invite.

You can view the descriptions of the two game modes available in the beta below.

“In Retrieval, the first game mode, players compete in two intense rounds in which one team attempts to deliver a payload which can only be carried by their ground crew while the other team defends. In the second game mode, Control, two teams vie for domination over various capture points. Players must ensure their ground crew are alive and within the zone as this is the only way to accrue score to win the match.”

You can also get an idea of how the game plays via this gameplay footage from Gamescom 2019.

Disintegration will release later in 2020 for Xbox One, PS4, and Steam.
