According to Disney CEO Robert 'Bob' Iger, both the Star Wars and Marvel universe will not be slowing down any time soon when it comes to movies. After Star Wars: The Force Awakens demolished box offices around the world, it's really no surprise that Disney wants to keep making Star Wars films and Marvel movies haven't been doing too bad themselves.
Disney has revealed plans for four more Star Wars films that are set to release over the next four or five years, but that's not all of the films that will expand the Star Wars universe. "There will be more…I don't know how many, I don't know how often," said Disney's Chairman and CEO Bob Iger told Newsbeat.
When it comes to Marvel, Iger believes the "thousands of characters" found in the comics lend themselves to a series of films that "will go on forever."
If you think for one second that moviegoers are tired of seeing Marvel movies, they aren't — at least that's what Iger believes. "No, I don't think they're getting weary," said Iger on the subject of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "But I think we keep raising the bar in terms of telling stories that bring them back, that excite them, that make it feel new and that is what we do for a living."
TL;DR: Disney is going to beat the horse till its dead and then beat it some more.
