Disney Infinity Avengers to be revealed later this month

Following leaks, we can confirm that Disney Interactive is hosting an event in which the "latest chapter of Disney Infinity" (read: Disney Infinity Avengers) will be unveiled.

GameZone received an invite to the event where we'll meet Disney Interactive President Jimmy Pitaro and Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada. Although the event is dated for April 30, it's possible that there could be an embargo in place meaning we won't actually be able to share details until a later time.

Earlier this month, Disney Interactive teased the arrival of The Avengers in Disney Infinity through the release of a trailer titled "Get Ready to Assemble." The brief teaser showed Captain America's shield zooming past characters featured in Disney Infinity. At the end of the clip, it said "Bring on the Super Heroes" with a label mentioningĀ a "2.0 Edition of Disney Infinity." At this point, it's unclear if 2.0 means a complete sequel or if this is just some sort of enhanced version, with extra content, possibly coming to next-gen systems as well.

Hopefully, all will be explained at this event.
