Disney Infinity sales reach 3 million

Disney Infinity has sold 3 million starter packs since the action-adventure game debuted on Aug. 18, 2013. The packs cost $75 apiece, and that's without all the extra figurines that you can plug into it.

The title is a direct competitor with Activision's Skylanders franchise, which also combines games with real-life purchasable toys. Disney Infinity features characters from both Disney and Pixar.

The NPD reported that Disney Infinity was one of the 10 best-selling games in the U.S. at the end of 2013.
