Disney launches new mobile game based on Star Wars: Rebels

While we all eagerly await the arrival of Star Wars Battlefront from EA, Disney has gone ahead and released a different game based on the ever-expanding Star Wars universe.

Available only on mobile devices, Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions is a sidescrolling action-platformer based after the hit animated series Star Wars Rebels.

"Rebels wanted! Are you ready to stand up against the Empire? Become an intergalactic hero in Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions, the new action-platformer mobile game!" the description reads.

Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions is free-to-download, offering four free levels of battle against the Empire as Ezra Bridger; however, additional levels, including more than 50 unique challenges, as well as other features, like wielding lightsabers and fighting bosses, are unlocked through in-app purchases.

Additionally, you'll be able to customize and expand a secret Rebel Haven where you can hide out and rescue citizens, as well as interact with characters from the show, including Zeb the muscle of the Ghost team, Hera the pilot, and even Chopper the grumpy Droid.

Admittedly, I'm not keen on paying for mobile games, but this actually looks pretty fun. Check out the trailer below.

Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions is currently available on Android, Apple devices, and Windows devices.
