Disney’s new Iron Man ride sounds awesome, but there’s just one problem

It's only in Tokyo Disney

At the D23 Expo this weekend, Disney shed new info on the Iron Man Experience Ride — the first Marvel-themed ride at any Disney theme park.

During the panel, it was revealed that the entrance to the ride will be patterned after the Stark Expo, positioned inside the Tomorrowland portion of the park. The ride itself will be a motion simulator, with riders will board Tony Stark's "Iron Wing" vehicle and fly to the new Hong Kong Stark tower, where Tony has built the world's largest Arc reactor on top of the building. Hydra attacks in attempt to steal the Arc reactor and you and Iron Man team up to stop them, with Iron Man flying in front of you and battling Hydra above and on the streets of Hong Kong. It's sounds like an experience awfully similar to the Spider-Man 3D-adventure ride Universal's Islands of Adventures, though there was no mention if Disney's Iron Man experience will be in 3D.

Just based on the concept art and description, it sounds like the Iron Man Experience Ride has great potential, but there's just one catch: it'll only be in the Hong Kong Disneyland.

Fret not those of you stateside, Disney also announced today plans for its biggest expansion yet: a brand new Star Wars Land coming to both Disneyland park in Anaheim, California, and Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
