With all the Star Wars news coming from the D23 Expo, Disney didn’t forget to mention some of their other huge upcoming projects. When Sean Bailey, president of production for Disney, took the stage, he debut our first glimpse of the “Jungle Book”.
The first look of footage from the film showed us Bill Murray’s take on Baloo the Bear. The crowd of 7,500 people went absolute bananas once Baloo started humming one of his most iconic songs, “Bear Necessities.”
Director, Jon Favreau, then took the D23 stage and talked about the unique production process on the remake of the 1967 film, saying the 21st century version was first animated and then shot in live action, before the two versions were melded together, Bailey stated that the film “one of the most technologically advanced movies ever made.”
The Jungle Book is scheduled to hit theaters on April 15, 2016.
