After a few months of silence, Larian Studios has come out firing on Kickstarter updates for Divinity: Original Sin 2 in recent weeks. The studio had been preparing for Gamescom 2016, which included a hands-on press event as well as the announcement that they made today. In a brand new Kickstarter video, Larian announced that despite the fact that the game will miss its December 2016 release window, Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be entering Steam Early Access on September 15th, 2016.
The Early Access version will retail for $45 and will give Kickstarter backers access to the first Act of the game, Fort Joy, as well as the competitive Online arena mode. Backers (provided they are the correct tier) will be getting instructions to access their codes in the coming days, but won't be able to play the game until the 15th.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 was a huge success on Kickstarter, smashing their original goal of $500,000 with a final tally of $2,032,434.
