DLC Going Too Far? Capcom to Sell Cheat Codes as DLC

Over the course of gaming history we've seen cheats transform from pre-start menu button sequences to in-game unlockables to….DLC.

That's right, Capcom has announced plans to release cheat codes for Dead Rising 2: Off the Record.  Titled the GameBreaker DLC, the cheat code pack contains over a dozen cheats like  God Mode, Infiniate Durability, Dumber Zombies, and much more.  They are the typical cheats you'd expect in a game, except you'd normally expect them to be unlockable for free in the game.

Capcom has jumped the shark and taken DLC to a whole new level by charging a price for them.  Gamers have constantly complained about companies beginning to hold back more and more at release so they can charge DLC price for it at a later date.  We've seen DLC introduce new levels, new gameplay modes, new characters, but never have I seen a company charge for cheats!

People have always wondered when DLC will go to far, THIS is it.  Maybe I'm blinded with hope, but I fully expect Capcom to go back on these plans.
