DoDonPachi Resurrecting on the Xbox 360

Shmup fans rejoice! After it was announced that Cave-shooter DoDonPachi would be arriving onto iDevices worldwide, it turns out that would not be the last we hear of the shoot-em-up. The big announcement from Cave’s weekend Cave Festival in Akihabara was that an Xbox 360 port of the game would be arriving onto 360’s soon.

DoDonPachi Resurrection, the fifth entry in the series, was originally released in May 2008 and is a direct sequel of the 2002 DoDonPachi Daioujou. After one month at the arcades, the game saw a release of “Version 1.5” complete with balance changes and other improvements. The 360-port will be based off of this version.

As with Deathsmiles, there will be multiple versions of the game included on the retail copy including two arranged modes, and one where the enemy can adjust to your play style making for even more strategic maneuvering.

The 360 version will also receive a visual upgrade as well. The game is due out in Japan on November 25, and although it hasn’t been formally announced for North America I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to see Aksys Games take a shot at it. Especially with a localization for the iPod coming soon.
