It looks like Oliver Queen will face one of his biggest, strongest, and most dangerous enemies yet, the Universal Soldier himself, Dolph Lundgren, has been revealed to be one of the villains in the upcoming season of Arrow.
Season five of Arrow will be the last season with flashbacks and this time they will be in Russia, to some extent at least. In season two and three it was revealed that Olive Queen made a friend in the Russian mob, the Bratva, and now fans will finally get to see this part of the story and how he managed to become a Bratva Captain. It is also in Russia where Oliver will meet Dolph Lundgren.
The 80's and 90's action man known for movie like Universal Soldier, He-Man, The Punisher, Rocky IV and The Expendables will be playing a less than friendly character and while speaking with IGN Arrow executive producer Wendy Mericle revealed that she is a big Rocky IV fan and that they might have borrowed a line or two from Rocky IV to use in the scenes with Dolph Lundgren and Oliver Queen.
Dolph Lundgren's yet unnamed character will appear in three episodes and Mericle promised that there would be at least one big fighting scene between the Arrow and Dolph Lundgren. "That fight will be one for the ages. They're going to go and have a big old brawl."
With the Swedish national hero, Dolph Lundgren, in the cast there is no chance at all that season five will be as disappointing as season four was, the official Arrow sub-reddit even changed to Daredevil because they were so disappointed with season four. Dolph Lundgren never disappoints.
