Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked takes survival to the seas this fall

Klei Entertainment today announced Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked, the next single player expansion for its Gothic-inspired survival game.

Shipwrecked is being made with the help of developer Capy, best known for 2D titles like Super Time Force and Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery, Klei said on its blog. Aptly titled, the expansion brings the same nitty-gritty survival gameplay to the deep blue.

Shipwrecked will introduce “new playable characters, biomes, creatures and seasonal effects,” and see the return of many characters from the game’s Reign of Giants and Don’t Starve Together expansions.

Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked will release on PC, Mac and Linux this fall. A console version has yet to be confirmed but remains a possibility given the rumored Xbox One release of Don’t Starve: Giant Edition, coupled with Klei's past console support.
