Don’t worry, Fire Emblem and Advance Wars fans. Intelligent Systems has not forgotten about you

Here's something that probably got lost in the E3 shuffle last week: Intelligent Systems, developer of both the Advance Wars and Fire Emblem franchises, are still on their minds.

During a Q&A session for the recently announced Code Name: STEAM, producer Hitoshi Yamagami had the following to say:

We are always thinking about the next iteration of Advance Wars and Fire Emblem. We can't reveal any of those details tonight, but when the time is right we will.

The Fire Emblem franchise saw its latest release, Fire Emblem: Awakening, arrive to North American shores last February to universal acclaim. Advance Wars, on the other hand, hasn't seen a release since 2008's Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. I think it's safe to say we're due for another release in the Wars franchise.
