Dontnod in ‘Judicial Reorganization,’ not bankruptcy

Remember Me developer Dontnod Entertainment has not filed for bankruptcy. "There are some rumors about the bankruptcy of Dontnod. There is no bankruptcy, Dontnod is not in bankruptcy," Dontnot CEO Oskar Guilbert told GamesIndustry International.

Instead, they are in something called "judicial reorganization," which, in France, appoints a Judicial Administrator to oversee the running of a company. The administrators focus is on sustainability, settling liabilities and managing labor costs.

"We are in something called in France 'judicial reorganization' which allows us to re-adapt our production pipeline to the new situation," he explained. "We started new projects and those new projects need some investment and we decided to resize the company in order to match these new needs. That's why we needed judicial reorganization."

According to Guilbert, sales for Remember Me are going strong. Release in June of last year, the action-adventure game, published by Capcom, is apparently number two in terms of downloads on PlayStation Plus in Europe. "So it's a big success on the digital side at least," Guilbert reasoned.

As for Dontnod's future plans, Guilbert teased that the studio was in "close negotiations with one big partner." He couldn't reveal the company name but did refer to it as "one of the top publishers."
