Have you ever wondered what the tutorial level of the new DOOM game would look, play, and feel like if it was set in DOOM 2? Wonder no more, because someone has recreated the whole level from DOOM 2016 in DOOM 2 and it looks awesome!
The new DOOM game was surprisingly good and it got high scores all over, and an 8 out of 10 from us at GameZone, it was the old school shooter many fans of the genre wanted, but for some, it just wasn't enough.
Some modders took it upon themselves to, so far, recreate the tutorial level by using one of the DOOM 2 open source engines and they did a real good job at it. Some slight modifications have been made but it is still the core 1994 DOOM feel mixed with the smoothness of today.
Just because the graphics are old, it does not mean the game feels any worse. DOOM is still as action packed as ever even with graphics from 1994.
