Doom gets free update featuring new multiplayer mode, bots, and more

Doom has a new free update you can download today and it brings plenty of content including a new multiplayer mode, bots, and an increased level cap.

Update 5 includes a new competitive multiplayer mode called Infernal Run, where “teams fight for control of the (eye) ball, which must be carried or thrown into the opponent’s goal to score.”

The update also increases the level cap to Ecehlon 11, and features multiplayer bots in Team Deathmatch and Deathmatch modes, a highly requested feature. Players who reach the new cap will be also rewarded with the new Doom Marine Armor.

In celebration of the new content, Doom is currently having a double XP weekend which runs until December 12 at 12 p.m. EST.

If you haven’t checked out Doom yet, you’re really missing out on some surprisingly bloody fun. The game has only gotten better since its release earlier this year, as many players are digging the new arcade mode.
