DOOM’s Multiplayer Closed Alpha is coming to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One tomorrow

With DOOM’s first Closed Alpha test only hours away, Bethesda and id Software  have given us a look at the gameplay we should expect from the test. The Closed Alpha will be available on the PC (through Steam), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in North America and locations in Europe.

Unfortunately, as this is a Closed Alpha, there is no open sign up for the event – participants in the beta will be selected from a pool of individuals  that pre-purchased or purchased Wolfenstein: The New Order digitally  and the people that redeemed their DOOM beta code that was included in some physical copies of The New Order.

This Closed Alpha session is not the beta what was offered with The New Order, so don’t freak out if you aren’t selected to participate.

**Check out the Alpha's FAQ page for more details on how to know if you have been selected**

Those that are selected for the Closed Alpha will play in 6v6 Team Deathmatch games, on the Heatwave map. Oh and it looks like you get to experience being the Revenant Demon.

Check out the weapons below and the gameplay above!

Plasma Rifle:

  • R1: A fully automatic rifle that fires pulses of superheated plasma capable of dealing splash damage.

  • R2: Shoots a plasma orb which detonates, creating a small area of burning plasma.

  • R2: Increases magnification and charges to full power output.
