Voting on Double Fine Productions' Amnesia Fortnight is over, and now production is set to begin on five game prototypes.
The winning ideas are Hack n' Slash, Spacebase DF9, The White Birch, Autonomous, and Black Lake. Fans chose from 23 concepts and donated money to the event, where the developers take two weeks to work on them. Proceeds benefit Double Fine, Humble Bundle, and the Child's Play charity.
Anyone who spent at least $1 gets access to the four completed prototypes and two from previous years: Happy Song, which became part of the educational game Sesame Street: Once Upon A Monster, and the Halloween-themed adventure role-playing game Costume Quest.
The four development teams will livestream their progress, and 2 Player Productions will provide contributors with daily wrap-ups. Tim Schafer, the founder of Double Fine, calls it a "a great morale boost for the team and a highly effective way to develop new game ideas.”
