Three weeks after Dr Disrespect, one of the most popular Twitch streamers got booted from the platform, we now finally see the titular streamer come forward in an interview with PC Gamer. Guy Beahm as is the real name of the doctor, has shared new details about his future.
But if you expect to learn more about the reasons for his ban, you’ll be disappointed. Dr Disrespect didn’t touch that topic at all and his reasoning for acting like that is sure to leave readers even more curious.
Apparently there are legal reasons why Guy Beahm and Twitch remain so mum on the topic. There’s no telling what this entails but the streamer didn’t leave the option out to take legal action against Twitch. There’s no doubt that this whole ordeal is far from over.
Uh, well, I mean, I’m trying to take the best and appropriate steps as possible, and there are things behind the scenes in terms from a legal standpoint that, you know, I can’t… that’s where it’s at. And so, I don’t want to go on social media and say the wrong thing or the right thing—or whatever it is—and, like, we made our statement. And that’s, you know, that’s where things are at now. As we build this game plan to make this Doc comeback, that’s still kind of in the works in terms of what the vision looks like. I’m working with my creative team, the graphics, going and taking like the whole Doc 3.0 experience to the next level, and so that’s where my focus is now. – Guy Beahm
But one thing fans of the eccentric streamer do now learn is that Dr Disrespect won’t be disappearing from the streaming world. Not in the slightest. Beahm states that he and his team are actively planning how to return Dr Disrespect onto the screens of his large fan base. One notable tidbit here is that they don’t want to sign an exclusivity deal with one of Twitch’s competing platforms.
The natural options here would be YouTube or Facebook of course, but we didn’t get any confirmation in the interview. It sure would be a huge win for Google’s gaming ambitions after they just recently struck a deal with another huge streamer Ninja. For now, it seems like the ties to Twitch are gone for good and Dr Disrespect won’t return to the platform.
