Dr. Disrespect starts streaming on YouTube; Will not be partnered

The Dr. Disrespect saga continues. The controversial streamer was banned from Twitch in June, nixing a massive contract between the two parties. The lack of reasoning and a bunch of vague explanations from insiders made it an incredibly enticing mystery. Some believed it to be serious legal trouble, some said Dr. Disrespect breached his contract. We still don’t really know the truth.

Whatever the case may be, Dr. Disrespect has returned to streaming, just not on Twitch. The Doc is now on YouTube streaming to nearly 300k people at the time of writing. The stream consists of an image of a sports car at a gas station in rainy neon-drenched city and some techno music. Periodic commentary from a DJ talking about Dr. Disrespect continues to tease the audience as well.

At one point, the DJ noted that Twitch streamers are not allowed to play with Doc as he streams on other platforms. Shortly thereafter, Doc joined the DJ and was asked why he was banned on Twitch but he didn’t answer.

eSports consultant and insider Rod Breslau noted that Dr. Disrespect has no partnership with YouTube or other platforms and won’t be offered one.

“Sources at Facebook Gaming and YouTube tell me DrDisrespect has not and will not be offered a partnership with either company at this time, but is free to go live just as any other creator would,” said Breslau on Twitter.

The Doc announced his return to streaming through a cryptic Instagram Live, directing people to a membership button on YouTube. You can pay $4.99 on YouTube to become a “member” but this is not a result of a partnership between the two parties. Joining the membership allows you access to emotes and an exclusive badge. We’ll keep you posted as this story develops.
