Nintendo had a Japanese Nintendo Direct yesterday in which a new Dr. Mario title for the 3DS was announced (you can see gameplay in the video below). It's your standard Dr. Mario gameplay, but you can also play as Dr. Luigi, who delivers pills differently. There are special items and a special touch-screen mode, as well. After being announced, it was immediately available in Japan.
Nintendo did confirm that Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure for the Nintendo 3DS will be coming to North America on June 11, bringing with it a new "cure-all" feature. A miracle cure will appear when you fill up the gauge on the side of the bottle; some wipe out entire rows and columns… stuff of that nature. There's also a multiplayer mode that utilizes the miracle cures. If you want classic Dr. Mario gameplay, you can turn off the cure-alls.
For multiplayer, Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure will have local, online and download play. With download play, if you have just one game downloaded, you can enjoy 2-player battle mode with a friend. You can also play a match-3 co-op mode where you and a player team up.
Pre-purchase for Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure begins today. It launches exclusively on the Nintendo 3DSÂ eShop on June 11, 2015.
