We're done with Resolutiongate, right? It's just so passé at this point, yes – I did just say passé (boom said it again).
In past articles, I've noted that a games resolution is often set so that the game can preform to maximum of its platforms ability.
Today, the official Dragon Age Twitter account verified this. They not only revealed the resolution for Dragon Age: Inquisition on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but they also revealed that those resolutions are the optimal resolutions per console (currently). Perhaps, it is the fault of minor tweaking being needed in the game engines that games are built in, or perhaps it is simply the limit of the consoles to do their builds.
I am not tech savvy, so I cannot say for sure, but what I do know is that Dragon Age: Inquisition will be running at 1080p on the PS4 and 900p on the Xbox One. See the Tweet below:
If you're not playing on a game console, check out the PC specs here, they're quite reasonable.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is set to release on November 18 for the PlayStation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC
Here's a thought: Resolution does not matter so long as it is 900p and above — it's the frame rate that matters (if it's under a certain point). Let Resolutiongate die.
