Draw Something hits 50 million downloads, passes Angry Birds Space

Draw Something has reached over 50 million downloads, retaking the top spot in the paid apps section of the iTunes store. Its new standing places the game above Angry Birds Space, which released in late March.

"We believe it's not only the fastest growing original mobile game of all time—50 days to hit 50 million downloads—but one of the fastest growing web sensations that we've seen," said Zynga.

The social gaming leader acquired Omgpop, developer of Draw Something, at the same time the popular game passed 30 million downloads. The buying price was around $200 million.
