On Friday, developer Evolution Studios shared some new information on the status of Driveclub and its connection/server issues that have plagued the game since launch. And by new, I mean it was pretty much more of the same information we've heard for the past few weeks.
More servers are coming online, significant updates have been rolling out, and online performance across the game has been improving. Over the weekend, Evolution Studios released a server update that also brought "specific improvements" for multiplayer racing and leaderboard updates. The developer said more improvements will follow as progress is made on Sunday and Monday, adding "we still have more work to do to get everything back on track before we can give you any bigger or better news."
As for Driveclub PS Plus Edition, the free, slightly stripped-down version of the game is still "temporarily on hold." Evolution Studios didn't reveal when PlayStation Plus members can expect its release, but added that it won't be until servers are improved.
Driveclub released for PlayStation 4 on October 7, but has been marred by server issues affecting online play — a key component of the social racing game. As a result, the PS Plus Edition, which was originally due out alongside the retail version, was delayed indefinitely.
