As an apology for the issues that have plagued Driveclub's online gameplay since its launch last month, Sony and Evolution Studios are giving away November's premium DLC packs for free to those who purchased the full game.
"The team at Evolution continues to work diligently to resolve all of the server issues. We know you have all been extremely patient and understandably frustrated during DRIVECLUB’s launch, and to show our appreciation for the support during this challenging time, we will be offering the premium DLC packs for November (25th November-SCEA/26th November-SCEE/27th November-SCEJ) free to those who purchased the full game," Evolution Studios said today.
The premium DLC packs planned for November include The Ignition Expansion Pack and the Photo-Finish Tour Pack "along with two livery packs," will give you a total of five new cars, 22 new tour events, 10 new trophies, and 10 new livery items to play with offline and online (when you can connect).
As a result of this free giveaway, Evolution Studios will also extend the Driveclub Season Pass to include four extra packs in July 2015 as to ensure that players who purchased the pass don't get shafted. The addition of these new packs in July mean Season Pass holders will still get 38 cars, 176 tour events and 80 unique liveries.
Unfortunately, Evolution Studios had no update on the release of the PS Plus Edition which has been postponed "until further notice" since last month. The developer says they are continually working to improve the server capacity to enable the launch of the free version.
