Imagine: It's 1996 and Duke Nukem 3D violently exploded into the game scene. There is tons of blood, gunplay, and humor that, at times, was a first in the first-person shooter genre.
It's not really 1996, it's actually 2015 and Duke Nukem 3D is back thanks to Devolver Digital, Abstraction Games, and General Arcade. They came together and took 3D Realms' shooter from '96 to the almost present time. The mostly present time.
Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition is hitting the PlayStation 3 and Vita today through the PlayStation Network. Oh, and it's free thanks to January's PS Plus games. The Megaton Edition doesn't simply have Duke Nukem 3D, it comes with a bunch of Duke Nukem things:
- Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition: All four officially released episodes of the iconic shooter with carefully restored visuals, timeless gameplay, and all-new PlayStation Trophies.
- Duke Caribbean: Life’s a Beach: Grab your water gun and sunscreen as Duke battles vacationing aliens in beach side hotels, tropical lagoons, and even a cruise ship!
- Duke It Out in D.C.: Duke takes his special brand of politics to Washington D.C. to turn back the alien invasion set against the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, and even FBI headquarters.
- Duke: Nuclear Winter: Take a brutal walk through this winter wonderland as Duke gets into the holiday spirit by bringing the battle to the North Pole!
