Well, if the look on Cornelius Oswald Fudge's face wasn't enough to tell the tale… Dumbledore will officially make his return to the big screen in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2.
The news was officially revealed by the director for the upcoming Harry Potter spin-off, David Yates, who has been discussing the character's return during a roundtable interview.
He said: “In the second movie, Dumbledore comes back."
"He’s got a couple of good scenes with Newt… We’re discussing who would play Dumbledore, any suggestions would be good. [Laughs]”
Some would say it's quite remarkable that casting for sequels are being discussed even before the original has premiered, however J.K. Rowling has already wrote the first sequel, and there's plans in place for the writer to work on a series of five instalments altogether.
GameZone has already reported a few different stories about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them since filming begun back in August of last year, and while it has been suggested that these films will go deeper into Dumbledore's backstory, it would seem a minor role for him in the first sequel is very much on the cards.
