Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to take down giant monsters in Rampage film

Fresh from the set of San Andreas and on his way into Fast & Furious 8, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has signed up to fight one of three (or all) monsters in a film adaptation of the classic 80's arcade game, Rampage. Johnson will be pitted against a giant lizard, gorilla, and/or wolf.

The monsters are wreaking havoc across major cities in North America and there's only one person that can stop them – Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. He will have plenty of practice with natural disasters after San Andres, which was an earthquake disaster film.

The script is being written by Ryan Engle, who wrote Non-Stop and the production studio New Line Cinema (the studio behind San Andreas) is still looking for a director. Beau Flynn, the producer of San Andreas will also be taking part in Rampage. Johnson is set to star in the film after production and filming ends for Fast & Furious 8. The story for Rampage has yet to be revealed, but the studio could either lump all the monsters into one mayhem filled battle or turn it into a trilogy — like most films have become as of late.
