Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has revealed a new "Be the Zombie" mode for upcoming first-person action survival game Dying Light. Coinciding with today's announcement is the release of a new batch of screenshots which you can enjoy in the gallery to the side.
Available as a pre-order incentive in North America, the special "Be the Zombie" PvP mode "provides gamers the ability to stalk other players as a night hunter, a lethal predator with unique and deadly skills like superhuman speed, a tendril used to grapple around the game world, special charge and distance attacks, and more.
"As an extremely rare zombie mutation, the night hunter is an agile, fast and dangerous enemy who emerges nocturnally in order to prevent the destruction of Hives by killing humans," the description reads.
Playing as a night hunter will earn you experience points and develop the character through its own special skill tree. You'll also earn other exclusive rewards and perks, but Warner Bros. has no provided additional details.
Warner Bros. maintains that reserving the game early is the only way at launch to get the mode, so I'm assuming it will be offered at a later date, post-launch as some sort of paid DLC. Dying Light is currently under development by Techland and will be available in 2014 for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
