Following last week's teaser, Techland has officially announced Dying Light's next expansion, titled "The Following." Though details still remain scarce until the grand unveiling at Gamescom next month, Techland today confirmed that Dying Light: The Following is "a feature-heavy, story-based expansion pack."
“For Dying Light: The Following we’re adding a number of bold game-changers to create one massive expansion. Something big that will give the game a brand-new flavor," promised Dying Light producer Tymon Smektala. In addition to the drivable all-terrain dirt buggies that were teased last week, the video also gave us a look at a city. Apparently that'll be a new map, one that is the same size as all previous maps from Dying Light combined, according to Smektala.
"We also kept a close eye on player feedback to help tailor what we've created here," he added. "Hopefully people will see that this new expansion is first and foremost, for the fans."
Dying Light: The Following will be made free to all Season Pass holders, another reason why Techland is the best, but will also be available for purchase separately. The expansion is set for a behind-closed-doors showing at Gamescom next month, with a full public reveal comings "shortly after."
In the meantime, Techland has released some first screenshots for Dying Light: The Following. Check them out in the gallery below.
