Dying Light: The Following offers at least 10 hours of playtime

Dying Light's eagerly awaited expansion arriving 'soon'

Since the announcement of Dying Light: The Following, Techland has teased the massiveness of the expansion. With a number of bold game-changers, a new map that's the same size as all previous maps combined, and more — we asked the developer what kind of playtime we can expect from the expansion.

"I would say it's ten hours minimum," Dying Light producer Tymon Smektala estimated, "but I think it might go even bigger than that because the expansion got the whole studio so excited that everyone in our studio and our team wants to leave their mark on the expansion."

"So we had a couple level designers that weren't involved in The Following at the beginning, but they really wanted to do something, so they are creating quests for that," he continued. "We had artists that weren't involved in The Following at all, but they really wanted to add something from their field of specialization like new weapons, new stuff, so we kept adding and adding and adding."

"I think it will be bigger," he added.

From what it sounds like, Techland is putting the finishing touches on the expansion which could explain why it doesn't yet have a release date. We did ask him, however, and he said "It's not going to be far away. Basically: Soon."

While we don't yet have a release date, Techland did confirm last week that Dying Light: The Following will be completely free for Season Pass holders and priced at $14.99 for all others.
