Dying Light’s dark fantasy DLC Hellraid launches July 23rd

Undying Light

Techland’s smash zombie hit Dying Light is doing its setting justice by seemingly never going to die. Even after five years since its launch, the game is still getting massive DLCs with the dark fantasy-themed Hellraid being the newest one. Next month, July 23rd, owners of the base game will be able to play a very different type of Dying Light with this DLC for just $9.99. Check out the new trailer!

If the name Hellraid rings a bell, you’re not the only one. It was an original first-person slasher by Techland set in a dark fantasy world. Things got very quiet about it when it was formally put on hold years ago in favor of focusing on Dying Light. Seeing how successful later became, it was probably the right choice.

But Techland seems to still believe in the original premise and instead of diverting precious energy from Dying Light 2 into a full Hellraid game, they did the next best thing. Create a fun DLC for the existing Dying Light. Techland has connected both wildly different games by making Hellraid a cursed arcade machine. Hey, it’s meant as a fun spin-off DLC, so we’re pretty cool with that explanation.

And fun there will be. Either alone or even better together with friends in online co-op, you’ll be able to fight through otherworldly and hellish dungeons and fight entirely new enemies. The best part? It’s only $9.99. A pretty good alternative until Dying Light 2 finally launches hopefully in the not-soo-far future.
