E3 2012: Bulletstorm developer working on new Gears of War title

Despite E3's presence just over the horizon, GameInformer could not keep their lips sealed on one of this year's most surprising announcements. But, what about, you ask? The publication's July cover, which can be seen below, unveiled the next Gears of War title, rightly dubbed "Gears of War: Judgment." The next installment in EPIC's beloved series will not feature Marcus Fenix, but will center around the side-kick duo of Cole and Baird. According to an anonymous source, speaking to IGN, the two protagonists have been "charged for treason because they didn't follow orders, stole equipment, and their actions could end up killing millions of people they swore to protect."

As you can imagine, the story's plot leaves a lot of questions unanswered at this point, but one question everyone has been asking since the unveil: who will be developing the already highly anticipated shooter? Thankfully, a Tweet from Epic Games President Mike Capps has revealed that People Can Fly will be showcasing their skills as a developer on the game:

It should be noted that "involvement" simply means that they'll be apart of the development process in some way. People Can Fly may very well be the only team involved on the title, but at this point we're waiting to hear more from EPIC Games. Next week's E3 event should bring about countless details pertaining to the upcoming Gears of War game, so keep your eyes peeled on Microsoft's press conference on Monday, June 4 – GameZone will be at the event to cover stories as they are released to the public.
