Ubisoft unveiled Rabbids Invasion at its E3 media briefing today. It's a new kind of television show where gamers and their children can interact with events onscreen using voice and motion controls on their Xbox One and various mobile devices.
The publisher is partnering with France Television and Nickelodeon for the show, which is about to launch soon, announced Ubisoft French Studios' IP business development director, Adrian Lacey. Players can use their televisions (via a motion-control camera) and interactive screens to participate in the story as it happens.
Lacey said players might dance with the Rabbids (mimicking their actions), solve puzzles with their voice, or engage in observation games like "spot the chicken." In a chicken showdown, three children pointed their fingers at the screen to throw eggs. And they screamed together to beat a separate challenge.
Ubisoft did not delve into the mobile side of gameplay.
