E3 2014: FromSoftware’s new title Bloodborne takes center stage at Sony’s E3 conference

The rumors have been circulating about Souls developer From Software’s next big project, codenamed Project Beast, but only today, after an appearance at Sony’s E3 conference, do we have something official to go on: Bloodborne is the current-gen souls we’re hoping for.

Revealed in a brief cinematic trailer, Bloodborne carries the gritty, gothic-revival torch of the Souls franchise, but through a different era. The trailer shown today displays an axe-wielding, gun-toting hero in a dark and dreary city, rife with crypts and ditches. While no gameplay was shown—so please, hold your hype—Bloodborne gives a definitive souls fibe, from the Undead-esque beings trudging around to the disfigured dogs that haunt the streets.

Unsurprisingly, no release date has been given. But hey, at least we can cross Project Beast off our wish list, eh?
